Calibre conversion creates invalid ID
I'm using ebook-convert on the command line to convert EPUB3 to EPUB2 (don't ask). The generated content.opf contains the following line:
<item href="OEBPS/text/cover.jpg" id="45a4ece0-c511-41cf-a1fd-4c2214c2e0bd" media-type="image/jpeg"/> Turns out this ID is actually invalid, since ID's are not supposed to start with numbers, it would appear. And epubcheck complains, of course, and some overly picky bookstores would actually reject the books for this reason. Any suggested workarounds other than manually editing the resulting files? -- BOb |

You're going to have to provide an example that shows this problem on conversion.

It appears that this problem was caused by an invalid ID in the original file, which was evidently replaced by an auto-generated ID with the initial digit which caused the problem. Fixing the ID in the original file make the problem go away.
