Fire HD with Verizon 3g hotspot?

It looks like the prepaid wireless 3g hotspots are extremely cheap, so i was wondering if anyone else has seen their performance? How long will it take me to load something like a youtube video? At home i have regular wifi, but i would use this on a bus so i would like my stuff to be loaded fairly quickly. Videos i would watch would basically just be 3-5 minute songs and other 5 minute or so videos. If there is a load time how bad are we talking? Really hope 3g cuts it for my needs, the 4Gers are way too spendo for me

I've used this setup for a couple years. Most of the time it works great. But the MiFi device is like any cell phone, susceptible to reception in your area. If there's good tower/signal coverage in your area, it's a great combo. But in an area with weak cell signal, it's an exercise in frustration.

I find 3G speeds acceptable for the occasional times I'm using my Kindle Fire away from home. But I also upgraded to 4G when it became available just because I could.

I would not personally find this an acceptable alternative to true high speed cable connection + WiFi in my house. But for occasional use while travelling, etc., it's a great, easy to use combo.
