After a while screen won't turn on

I have a problem with my device. For some weeks now the screen will not turn on after it has been turn of for a while (at least an hour).
I need a reset to turn the screen on again. The battery is full, so that is not the problem. Since I usually don't carry a pin with me in the train, where I do the most of my reading, it is very annoying.

Anyone an idea? Is the device dying on me?
