Playing videos on PE

I have read in a couple threads that videos could not be played on the PE.
I found a way to play them without any app.

-Convert the video to IPOD H.264 video (*.mp4).
-Make a folder in the internal storage, I haven't tried it yet but putting it on the micro SD card should do the same.
-put the video in the video folder.
-Open ES file exployer.
-Select video folder.
-Select video.
Play

ps: If this has been put on before, forgive me for I did not see it.

Should be IPOD H.264 video (*mp4). Could be others too.

If the videos are put on the micro SD card, they can be played by using "Gallery"

Yeah, I play .avi tv episodes on mine all the time.

I remember reading that the ipod format works best, but the post I read is long buried now.

act video player plays normal files on mine 100% fine.
