Pink I would have stayed away from but there's nothing fem about KOBO - I'm comfortable.

According to one of the Indigo employees on the Indigo website, the Black one should be available later this week. Sure would be nice to get a straight answer one way or another. It would be great to not have to wait until the end of the month to finally get mine!

I just checked my email and finally got a reply from Kobo. Here's what they had to say.

"In the very near future as early as May 15th a limited stock of the eReader will also be available in Black. At this time we do not have an exact date or time of the release. Keep an eye on the website for more details."

I wish there was a pre-order option to guarantee getting one...I really don't want to keep calling stores to see if they've got some...and since it's a limited stock it'll be even more difficult to secure one.

The website says the white ones will ship in 3-5 weeks, but the black ones were showing as in stock. The order confirmation says that it will be delivered on or by May 12. I guess I'll have to keep my fingers crossed untill I recieve an actual shipping confirmation.

According to both the Kobo Ereader website and the Chapters/Indigo website the black is out and ready to be purchased! I just ordered mine as well.

I just picked up a black reader in the Chapters store in St. Albert. Looks better than the white with the big blue button.

I picked up a black one yesterday (May 6) in Markham, ON. They were out of stock of the white and had just received a shipment that morning (25 readers). 3 of them were on hold and their orginal shipment of porcelain readers sold out in a day or 2.

Better check for stock online before you head out to compare. They are selling fast.

They had several in the store here in Kamloops. They had one half open and they were kind enough to let me hold one.
I compared it to mine (that I had along)... I must say I much like it..
Considering returning mine and getting the black one

Does anybody have any thoughts on which case colour makes it easier to read? I think the black one looks a lot nicer, but the readability issue trumps.
