An anonymous, abridged translation of ‘La dame de Monsoreau.’ There doesn’t seem to be a complete English translation, but this is 138,500 words.

A tale of conspiracy, deception and abnormal jealousy at the court of Henri III of France, set at the time of the Holy League, which conspired to set the King’s brother on the throne. Meanwhile, Bussy d'Amboise falls in love with a fair unknown …

This is the second of Dumas’s three Valois Romances The others are ‘Marguerite de Valois’ (already uploaded) and ‘The Forty-Five Guardsmen’ which I shall be working on later this week.
