Reference Mode in calibre Viewer

I accidentally clicked on reference mode in calibre's viewer and it plastered a yellow (or green; I'm color blind) square with a paragraph number in it. How the bloody heck do I get rid of that infuriating yellow square? I can turn of reference mode by clicking on it again but the stupid square persists.

The square is yellow... I just tried it, and the square normally fades away as soon as the mouse cursor leaves the paragraph or the text area, if I disable reference mode quickly enough, it stays on. Try to re-enable, wait till it fades, and then disable again.

Curious. I just checked back and it has gone away. When it happened, however, it persisted for a good five minutes before I gave up, posted here, and read on past it.

Thanks!
