New Free Barnes & Noble Classics eBooks Promotion (most likely US only)
Barnes and Noble free Independence Day Classic give-a-way must have been popular, because B&N is going to be giving away a selection of their Barnes & Noble Classics Series each week from July 16th to September 14th. The selection will change each week. Most of the books this week were available previously, but there are a couple of new books available, including Peter Pan, The Secret Garden, and Wind in the Willows.
This Week's Featured Selection Yes, these are classics and most of them are already legally freely available (except for Peter Pan); however, the Barnes & Noble Classic Series are nice editions and the modern introductions are usually interesting. Since this this Barnes & Noble, you do have to have an account in which you have to supply a credit card number and the books will only be compatible with B&N reader software or the nook. Quote:

This is a very old thread (and the promotion long gone), but B&N Classic editions contain additional commentary and introductions that you don't get with a bare-bones scan of a classic book (often, it's their own translation, as well, for those not originally in English).

It was mis-copied from this old thread - https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90982
It doesn't go anywhere, though, as the promotion has been over for a year. |
