NYT - Steven Pinker Reads Malcolm Gladwell - on a Kindle!

In his review of "What the Dog Saw" in the Sunday NYT Book Review, Steven Pinker's reaction to Gladwell's prior book "Outliers" seemingly endangered his Kindle:

"The reasoning in "Outliers," which consists of cherry-picked anecdotes, post-hoc sophistry and false dichotomies, had me gnawing on my Kindle."

It's encouraging to see reviewers mentioning the medium in which they are reading the books being reviewed. Perhaps this can nudge reluctant authors & publishers to adopt simultaneous ebook/pbook launches.

yes, absolutely. and i think it also will help raising the awareness of the general public about ebooks, and help making them truly mainstream. let's hope few people begin gnawing on them though.

That's pretty cool, especially since any formatting issues or negatives about the ebook experience may get a mention in the reviews. If publishers see adverse publicity from somewhere like NYT as a result of a shortcoming, they will be quick to jump in and fix it.
