Watching the Celtic v Juventus football match on TV. Apart from my constant swearing at the referee (if I don't tell him, how will he know he's wrong?), something at half time made me even crosser.
During the obligatory camera pan across the crowd, we saw Rod Stewart and Billy Connolley. Cue the commentator saying something like, "Big fans of Celtic and big fans of Scotland. True patriots." Yeah, right. So 'patriotic' that as soon as they got a bit of money behind them they both buggered off to live on the other side of the world. Both of them, and Sean Connery too, have also liked to have their say on Scottish independence. If you can't even bear to live in the country that you profess to love, please excuse me if I take your 'heartfelt' opinions as the empty posturing they are. I'm so mad today I can't even type about it! I spent much of today standing outside in the rain trying to cool off, so that I wouldn't trash my office -- and anyone unfortunate to enter it!
Going home to drink heavily and annoy my cats! Every now & then they have to earn all those cat treats -- by humoring my evil moods! Perhaps laser pointer tag tonight! You play it by shining the red dot on one cat's tail - making sure another cat sees it. Hours of fun! And exercise! [No cats are injured during this game. Only bruised feelings -- soon soothed with extra snacks] |

I just discovered that €11 was taken from my credit card yesterday by a Swedish online battery shop. I disputed the claim, hopefully I'll get the money back. I also asked what the best course of action is now (new card?). I'm glad I got a pre-paid credit card with usually not much money on it!
I'm mostly annoyed with all the hassle it brings along with it. If I need a new credit card it will take a while before I get it. Hopefully Moneybookers will soon react and I can get everything sorted quickly. If not, I'll cancel my card with them and switch to the more expensive Dutch pre-paid credit card. |

I just got an email from Moneybookers telling me I won't get me €11. It was an automated reply and told me there could be various reasons (too long ago, already refunded, etc). Non of which apply to my case. Just in case I've cancelled my card and requested a new card and changed my password. Hopefully they'll approve a new card, if not I'll get the more expensive Dutch pre-paid credit card.

Ugh!! Yeah, usually when I hear of cases like that, the best recourse is a new card, immediately. (and cancellation of the old)

With the CC I'm mostly annoyed that I haven't got one now. Not that I'm planning any big purchases but on Saturday evening I like to buy some digital magazines and read them during the weekend. |

So - we had an employee retire - and management decided to provide a cake for the occasion - and ordered it from the local Harris Teeter supermarket bakery - with a suitable message.
It was supposed to say: "Happy Retirement George" I don't know who was more of an idiot -- the illiterate bakery person, or the astute management person who paid for it and presented it to the new retiree! So nice to know how much your bosses really care about you! This is the same store that proudly offered cakes decorated for Christmas -- that read -- "Hoe, Hoe, Hoe" - didn't have a phone to capture that magic moment!
