Epub and Adobe

Here is a link to adobe's intent to support the PRS 505 or future model with epub and Adobe Digital editions, Do you think with the Recent announcement of Books on Board selling Epub formats that the Kindle will support this also?
For some reason I am thinking in the next 6 months we are going to see some changes in devices.

Here is the link second to last paragraph.

Will the Kindle support Epub? Nope.

The Kindle is a Mobipocket device, and Mobipocket already supports conversion from Epub with MobiDesktop. We have also been told that there will be no support for reading the file directly.

Right now, I'm more concerned about getting a software update for file management. I don't want to deal with any more formats.

I understand the Kindle does not support Epub or Adobe DE, However I am looking at future updates.

There's been mumblings about a possible SDK for the Kindle as well. If that happens then Adobe (or a 3rd party) might develop the necessary software for it.
