I changed my Kindle's name from Perilla to Pearl. Perilla wouldn't backwards translate to English as "knowledgeable" on Google Translator and it was driving me nuts.

Pearl doesn't mean anything except maybe a reference to the pearl screen. Basically, I just thought it sounded good.

I name it the title of whatever book is currently being read on it, which is also how I name my paper books. Works out rather well.

Now I know I need to go to bed, because the first time I read that, it made rational sense.

I haven't named mine yet. I wanted to be clever but that doesn't usually work out for me very well. So, for now it remains "Christa's Kindle" as it was already registered when they sent it to me. It'll probably end up being something in Latin, though the illusion of intelligence and sophistication would be shattered if they saw what was actually on it.

Well, my Kindles both have a name; Jacqueline's Kindle and Jacqueline's 2nd Kindle. Especially the naming of the 2nd gives me a very nice feeling.
They're good and well named, because they're mine (like Gollum in the Lord of the Rings: my precioussss, my preciouss).
