Interesting K3 review

Lots of good tech info in this review, including screen contrast by the numbers, battery size and lots more. It's well worth a read.

It is a good review, with lots of new information. For example:
Quote:
Kindle 3 comes with LICO S11GTSF01A 3.7V 1750 mAh Lithium Polymer battery. This is an upgrade compared to 1530 mAh battery by the same manufacturer found in Kindle 2.
So the longer battery life isn't primarily from a larger battery. Also:

Quote:
Many people are wondering about what would cover with built-in LED light do to the battery life. Luckily I had a digital multimeter and a piece of wire handy so I was able to measure the drain current of the cover as well. It turned out to be 76.6 milliamperes. This by an order a magnitude larger than what Kindle 3 consumes even with wireless on. So with LED light on battery life is going to be between 20.85 and 22.15 hours of constant reading.

Thanks for posting. Although I haven't had to change my K2 battery (only 8 months old, and wireless never on) I would have no qualms about changing the battery in my K3. Of course, I will have a K4 by the time the battery needs changing!

Good point, Sydney's Mom.

Last time I ever remember changing a battery (other than AA in a flashlight) was in 2003 in cell phone that I've used for over a year.

Nowdays gadgets become obsolete before the battery ever expires.
