Reader Library 3.1.00.xxx does not update this this version. This version was released to fix some of the startup issues.

J, This seems to be applicable only for Windows 7 folks.

It does say "What products and operating systems does this apply to?
Model: PRS-505
Operating System(s): Microsoft® Windows ® 7 Ultimate 32-bit"

But right under that there's a link - "See all applicable models and operating systems" and when you click on the link you see a whole list of all the OS and models it applies to - many more than just the 505 and Windows 7.

Actually, it applies to more then just Windows 7 & the 505. It's just Sony's way of having the same program linked different ways.

My version is working, therefore I won't be updating.
Note that you should un-install version 3.1 first.

I've installed the new one over the previous one and it worked fine. No issues here.

I've had problems. My left part of the interface has disappeared. Didn't see the library or bookstore anymore.
The well known solution: Deinstallation wasn't enough, had to delete the usual folders as well.
