I think we've still got a ways to go with magazine and newspaper subscriptions.....it's one thing I'm hoping they work out soon. I certainly don't want a separate app for every subscription. That is totally stupid imo.

I agree B&N interactive magazines are not an app. But then all there interactive magazines can only be read on the nook color and tablet, but not their apps. With Amazon's any android device will be able to read these magazines and the other thing I like about the app is that where amazon only maintains the previous 6 months of your subscription. Since the app is hooked up to the publishers site you can archive previous issues and not maintain them on your device and when you want to re-read an article you just re-download it.

Thank goodness the magazines I subscribe to aren't available as apps. That was an instant turnoff for me. Not having them show up in Newsstand and not having the actual cover of the magazine showing. I tried the Wired app just to see what it was like.

Someone on Amazon.com mentioned the Wall Street Journal app is now available. I haven't checked.
