Pity Kobo ereaders aren't included on the iFixit website. I did however see there is a YouTube video for taking a Kobo Touch apart, must try that with my broken one......don't know if spares can be had in UK however ? |

I don't recommend trying to fix a broken screen yourself. We did it with my iPad 3 and it was a nightmare. The replacement screens are not quality checked very well and for us it took 4 replacements to get one without a dead zone. Even with that one, there was a weird shading flaw in the screen making it look like wrinkled paper if the screen was all white. On the first replacement one of the internal cable attachment locks broke and had to be rigged with Mylar tape. Those connectors are not made to be disconnected and reconnected often.
Just pay the $100 or so and let a pro do it. They have the tools and experience to do it right and will guarantee the screen. I bought accident protection insurance on my new iPad Air. |
