Add books to Calibre

Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if this has been asked before... sorry if it has.

I want to add my book files to Calibre but don't want to sit there for half a day changing the metadata.

My books are filenamed:

Author - Series Series Number - Title

Example

J.K. Rowling - Harry Potter 1 - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

I see in Calibre you can change the way files are added however I can't seem to figure out the specific string I need.

You help would be most appreciated.

Thank you

tisk tisk... i dont recall this ever being released as an ebook

As for you question I would have to venture the answer to be yes...
You would have to edit the expression to suit your needs though I have no idea on how to do it. There is a link there that has reference expressions that you can use...

Thanks but that's the part where I'm stuck...

Also own the hardback versions of the HP series so feel justified in downloading ebook versions after paying out over £60 for 7 books.

This will do it for you:

Code:
^((?P<author>([^\-_0-9]+)(?=\s*-\s*)(?!\s*-\s*[0-9.]+)|\b))(\s*-\s*)?((?P<series>[^0-9\-]+)(\s*-\s*)?(?P<series_index>[0-9.]+)\s*-\s*)?(?P<title>[^\-_0-9]+)
