No, that's not correct. The PRS-505 is 8 GREY-SCALES - ie 3 bits. The CyBook and Kindle are both 4 grey-scales - 2 bits. The iLiad is 16 grey-scales - 4 bits.

Pretty much any screen will do that. That just means that your picture will not be shown to it's best effect.

The idea with my post is that, those people who want their pictures to actually look good on the screen should consider doing some prep work. As long as you don't much care how your pictures look, then prep work is really not the problem.
