Disaster
I was using calibre 6.11 fine without problems. I innocently downloaded 6.12, what a disaster.
Nothing works. The author and title have the text of the file. Huge. The library says I have 2 books, but none are listed. |

You're going to have to provide more details if you want help. Like what operating system you're on. What exactly led up to the metadata having the file's contents, etc.

Fast. Thanks
I am using Windows XP pro with all patches. version 6.112 was fine. I just installed 6.12 and everything fell apart. In the past, an update worked fine. I have not changed anything. |

I will check back in about 8 hours.
Maybe I should just use version 6.11. Do you or someone have a copy of it. |

Need more details than that. What doesn't work exactly and what steps need to be taken to reproduce the bug?

I just tried to add a book. It took a long time to add. My Library said I had 1 book, but none were listed.
I tried to add again, and it said duplicates were found and if I wanted to add anyway. I said yes and two books were listed with the metadata all mixed up. So many problems. Metadata mixed up and files not listed. |

Sorry. I do not know what you need.
The above steps always occur. |

I went to advanced preferences. I tried to look at the database.
I got this error. Do you know where on your disk Calibre keeps your books? If you don't, go to preferences and at the top of general preferences should be your path to your books.
Now, go to that folder using windows explorer -- you can use the windows key and "E" to open windows explorer (not Internet Explorer, windows explorer). Are all of your books still in that directory? You should find one folder per author and underneath each author should be all of the books by that author. Are all of your books still there even though they aren't showing in Calibre? |

I am not sure. I have converted one book at a time and placed the converted files into a separate folder.
I do not have a folder with all titles' I am happy to start all over, but I re-downloaded version 6.12 and actually uninstalled 6.11 but same problem. All updates worked fine before. Something must have changed. I need version 6.11 so I can do some work. |

It seems to me you can just use the command-line conversion utility instead of having to go through the Calibre GUI.
