iRex Technologies website has been closed
Hi.
The info on the iRex Technologies website says: I think that means the 2.0 firmware won't be developed any more. Does anyone have access to the source of the 2.0 firmware and its API? Has it ever been published by iRex? There are many things that can be improved by the community (ex. highlighting in ePubs, .cbr support...) Last edited by marcins; 10-02-2010 at 06:40 AM. |

It seems that the iRex User Forum is also history...
http://forum.irexnet.com/ But for now, the Support sites appear online... http://support.irexnet.com/ (old) http://support.irexreader.com/ (new) And most important MYIREX is STILL there... https://myirex.irexnet.com/ |

Apparantly Edwin Mons from IRX noticed my other thread about this issue and put a new Certificate in place :
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=133607 Quote " Hi, kleykenb. The IRX hosting admin here. I renewed the certificate last week (for several SSL hosts), but it appears I forgot to update the myirex vhost config with the new key. Should be alright now. Kind regards, Edwin Mons IRX' Pretty nice to know that they're still looking over parts of the iRex website. Last edited by kleykenb; 05-18-2011 at 08:53 AM. |

Definatelly. Most of the irex site has been 'deprecated' for about a year now but the main functionality (access to firmware , official documentation , developer package) thankfully is still in place and apparantly being maintained by IRX.

There where still a couple of people who strongly believed that IREX or the remaining of the crew would bring a new update for the DR800SG. Up till now I didn't see a thing.
Curious if they still would bring an update. |

Last I saw, it was one of the IRX developers who said that they were still working on the firmware. That was a while ago though, haven't heard any recent updates. There really hasn't been much information coming from the new IRX company about what they're working on.

IRX manager, as you are reading this forum apparently, where can I have my iLiad book edition mended? Half a year or less after I had it repaired, it was broken again, and even worse than the first time, but then iRex was broke. Should I put my iLiad in the dustbin now? I paid EUR 500 for it, and was hardly able to use it for one year!

it's a pitty that such a fine reader is basically dumped because of mismanagement. at the same time i bought those DR800SG's, I bought also a Entourage eDGe. unfortunately the same happened with that company. They stayed a couple of months longer, but the are gone to. both are in my eye very promising devices. |

I have recently sought contact with IRX, to see if they could repair (have repaired) my iLiad. The reply was that they do NOT no longer support any iRex device, that they no longer have a service department, but that they still have a few spare parts for iRex devices.
Sadly they do not have not a new screen for my iLiad, so they cannot help me "because only iRex could supply these screens". Not very convincing, but there it is. This being the situation, it seems highly unlikely to me that they would still do any work on firmware or whatever for any iRex apparatus. |
