Uploading hundreds of PDFs to ipad inquiry

Hi,

I have Goodreader but it can only make you upload one file at a time. How can I upload hundreds of PDF files to the Ipad at once?

How good is Iannotate compared to Goodreader? Can Iannotate make you upload all PDF files at once?

The best way to do this is to use the local wireless connection method. Go to the Goodreader web site and look up the how-to, and it'll give you all the instructions you need. Once you establish a connection in this manner, you will be able to view Goodreader's internal file structure in your file manager on your computer. You can then do anything with it you can do with any other directory structure: create folders, block-transfer hundreds of files at once, etc.

Yep, mount your iPad as a network drive and you can easily copy over a few hundred megs of files in seconds. I uploaded some 500 PDFs of about 1G in just a few minutes.

The USB connection is also very fast, using the Apps tab in iTunes. You can drag and drop as much as you want into that little window.

Thanks. Im now transferring hundreds of pdf files by mapping it as a network drive in Goodreader. But it's taking quite long like 50 minutes for 224 files totally 3 gigabytes. Is this normal? Can I connect it via the usb cable? One of you mentioned doing this in itunes and putting it in the Apps windows. Won't this make each pdf displayed in the main ipad windows??Also. If I use other pdf readers like Iannotate, how can it acess the pdf files inside Goodreader?? Also is Iannotate worth to get if you already own Goodreader? What is its advantage?

3 Gig over a wireless taking 50 minutes isn't something I'd call unusual. Yes, you can connect via the USB: go to iTunes, select your iPad, click on the Apps tab, and scroll down the page. Down below the list of Apps, you'll find another list of apps that you can transfer files to and from. Goodreader should be listed there. Select it, and you'll see the root document directory of Goodreader. You can block-select all your PDFs and drop them here. That will go quite a bit faster than your wireless. The downside to this method is that you cannot transfer folders or create folders via this iTunes method: you'll be transferring everything into the root doc structure of Goodreader. If you want things organized in folders, you have to do it through wireless. You can create the folders directly in Goodreader and then move the files into the folders after they're transferred via USB, but it's a bit of a time-consuming process that way, so I don't know that ultimately you'd save any time doing it in this two-step process (that's assuming, of course, that you want all these files organized into folders; if you don't care about that, then by all means, use iTunes rather than wireless).

Your Ipad can be set to pull in all your photos automatically. In Itunes when you sync your Ipad look on MyIpad and the photos tab. You can select to pull your photos from your "MyPictures" folder.

You never mentioned if your wireless network is A, B, G or N. That will make a difference too.
