I'm not able to access delphiclassics.com. Do they have a new url or are they reconstructing the site, anyone knows? It's been off for days now.

I agree, it's a very useful service, except in a case like this that doesn't really work. The site is "up" in the sense that you are taken to a page when going to the URL, it just happens to be a generic start-up page for their web host.

This had better be just a glitch. If they've screwed their customers for a second time, they're probably not going to survive.

It does appear that they've changed their web host.

Most of their titles still seem to be available in the Amazon.com Kindle store. But I haven't tried purchasing any in the last few days.

Dang, and I just discovered them! I'm currently reliving my childhood by reading the works of L.M. Montgomery that I bought from them a few weeks ago. It is really a lovely collection and has a bunch of short stories that I don't have in my older collections I got off Gutenberg.

There were more books I wanted to buy -- hopefully they'll be back.

LOL. I've ported a big(gish) forum several times from host to host, and from one forum package to another... without any glitches and a downtime of about an hour or two snapshot and restore/convert the database. I didn't lose a single account or post.

Officially, I'm just an amateur regarding webhosting stuff (I can write website backends, but I'm not a hosting/server buff), so I company should be able to do at least as well.

I already have all the classics (51 books, including the free ones) I wanted from them. There are some I might have bought because I know the authors by name, but my familiarity with those classics end there.

Yes and No. I even sent email to their sales address and have yet to get a reply.

Just tried again, trying to get to my account (not front page) and now I'm getting an "Offline for Maintenence" message along with a "We apologise to our customers. We are updating our website and it will be back as quickly as possible." Top page still displays "Website Coming Soon! Stay Tuned" message.

Ugh, hate to say this, but now I feel justified in refusing to buy direct from them after they lost their first site (and they changed their language on the frequency of updates).
