Converting DocBook XML source book with calibre!
I have a source code for the book "Introduction to Linux" by Machtelt Garrels. It in .tar ball with several xml files in it along with an image folder. Calibre can't do anything with this file and just says that the input is not recognised.
Can anything be done about this. Most online tools work with individual xml filees but not on a tar file with several XML files and an image folder in it. |

A tar file with docbook source is not really a book format. You need to extract the files, and run docbook on it, and it will create a .pdf file and possibly a .epub (depending on the source). I don't know anything about this particular book or its sources, but the file may also contain a make file or build script that assumes that you have the docbook software on your computer.
