Classic Nook No Longer Recognizing New Documents

I recently got a Nook, and immediately began uploading various .pdfs and .pdbs that I had stored on my computer. It seemed to read them alright at first, but now when I look for the last few things I uploaded, they aren't there.

I downloaded a couple different versions of the same book from Manybooks.net (.pdf, .pdb, .epub) and none of them showed up in my documents. Thinking it might be a problem with the website, I tried doing the same at Project Gutenberg. Still no result, except now it won't show the new wallpapers I added. Or even show the files for the ones that were working just fine a day ago.

Any help/suggestions/ideas?

I have had a few nooks that needed a hard reset in order to work correctly even right out of the box. If you call B&N, they will give you the procedure.

Assuming the NON color nook. Many, many posts here aren't clear about which model they have, and the mods won't separate the two.

I would call B&N and get the hard reset procedure and go through it, after saving things to my computer. I would then make sure I had 1.5 installed. After that, I might download a reader and make sure my documents were readable. It appears as though only certain extensions are problematic so I would try to see if that were the case. Maybe next, I would load the documents onto an SD card and see what happened there, as well as onto someone else s Nook, if possible. Also, double check the instructions and make sure you are loading things into the right place, and read them with your computer while the Nook is attached, just to make sure they are really there.
