A couple of killer news apps

I was browsing the getjar store and found a couple of very cool apps for news. 1 is Pulse and the other is called News Republic. They are both very customizable and in the case of News Republic there is a cloud of trending topics you can access as well. CNN is available too but that app is simply a link to the mobile site.

I love Taptu. Taptu seems to be the only app capable of actually extracting the whole text of an RSS feed.
RSS feeds usually only contain the first few lines of the article and a link (so that you click on the link and get bombarded with ads). Taptu extracts the text only from that website and can render it directly in the app (mind you, sometimes you get some garbled text - but like in Pulse, there is still the link for the website). This also works if somebody shares and article on Facebook or Twitter.
The one with the nicest layout seems to be Feedly. But Feedly doesn't extract the text, so it depends on your RSS if it's for you or not.
