@Gazza1158 I think c000001d is an illegal instruction. It can be caused by running 64-bit software on a 32-bit system. You can run a 32-bit program on a 64-bit system, but not vice versa.
Control Panel\System and Security\System will tell you of you have 32-bit or 64bit Windows. Suggest you uninstall calibre (you wont lose anything), re download the appropriate version and reinstall BR |

Thank you for the two quick responces.
I preformed the fixes to the letter and nothing has changed. I even tried the Debug and the same fault occurred during the debugging. As for the correct version of Calibre. I went to the alternative download site and got the 32bit version. Uninstalled Calibre, restart windows, re-installed Calibre only to get the same error, thanks again for any and all assistance. |

And what processor (CPU) do you have? If it is an AMD processor made before 2003 then it doesn't support the SSE2 instructions that apparently Qt5 requires.

chaley i'm afraid you me be right. I am an invalid and can not afford a decent computer.
I think I have a AMD 2500+ plus chip and is quite old with only 2megs of ram. I will probably go back to the older version of Calibre and live with that. Thank you for all your Help |
