Question Batch TXT to EPUB ?

I have LOTS of nice TXT files that I'd like to use with the Literati.

Does anyone here know of a -free- windows TXT-to-EPUB converter ?

I would be very happy with something command-line oriented if that's what is out there and if it can batch them.
(My 2 specs for this are batch conversion and FREE !?)

I did search for quite a while and only came up with fancy payware and a million useless search results.

The site search here doesn't seem to like boolean searches, so I couldn't seem to isolate 'txt to epub' as I wished to.

Any clues for me ?

Thanks !

You might want to try Calibre, the GUI does a great job of batch conversion from text to ePub. Or you can use the Command Line, read up on the command line interface here.

I may look for a portable of it because I did not like how it installed when I did that before.
The CLI info is here:
And I see no mention of batching, by folder, by directory when I use their search function.

Any other suggestions, please ?

Thanks !

There's also some notes on how to make a portable install in the Calibre user manual.
As for batch converting: Use ebook-convert, as noted before, and use the scripting tools your OS offers for running conversions on folder contents. For example, on Windows, I've had good results using the "for" command.
The trivial way, I think, would of course be just stuffing all of the files in the GUI, converting and exporting them

For some reason he felt the need for two threads on the same topic. After I pointed him to another thread he actually thanks you for the info you provided in that thread.
