Defeat External Market Links Prohibition?

OK. I finally rooted my Fire2. The hard part was getting Win7 to install the USB drivers. These instructions worked. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2125628)

And now I can go to the Google Play Store and download apps. Nice!

But, when I click a link that wants to take me there, the External Market Links notification still comes up and wants to send me to the Amazon Market where the file I want is not.

Is there a way to defeat that so I can follow a link to wherever it leads?

Huh! OK, I fooled myself. Google Play still won't let me download. Instead of rejecting me up front, it simply refuses to download. Must be a way around it. Gotta search.

Original question still stands.

I have the Google Play store working fine (has to be installed as a system app), but I've never found a way around the External Market Links prohibition. But I'll be honest; I haven't looked that hard either.
