Time to read - whatever did I do before?!

Is anyone else totally in love with time to read on the new PW? (not sure if the Fires have it as well)
It has completely changed the way I read, as I can now plan entire books around my free time. The only thing I hate is that there are sometimes ads for other books in the end of novels, so you think you still have 30 minutes to enjoy your book, and then it's suddenly finished.

I'm enjoying it, particularly when I'm trying to decide if I'm going to read another chapter before I close the Paperwhite for the night for some shut-eye.

Time to read in chapter is great! Time to read in book less so - the biography I'm currently reading has 170 pages of source notes, which I'm obviously not going to read page by page

I hated it at first. It stressed me out. I felt pressured to read faster, so I switched back to locations. Now, I mostly use locations and switch to time left in chapter for just a quick peek.

I love the 'Time to Read' feature as well! I set the feature to 'time left in chapter'. It's accurate and very useful. It's really nice being able to know how long it will take me to finish a chapter and whether or not I have time to continue the chapter or just stop.

I love this feature as well! I kept it turned off for the first couple of books I read while it learned my reading speed, because it was a bit distracting when it kept fluctuating, but now that it's quite accurate I tend to leave it on time left in chapter -- so helpful.

@Saturday: I thought it started learning from scratch with every new book. Hmm, I'll watch it when I next start a book.

I love the time left in chapter as well, but to know I had 3 hours left in a great book, influenced me in that I made sure I had 3 full hours uninterrupted to finish it. That's when I first realized how very awesome the feature is. Before, I never even would have thought about carving out a specific amount of time.

Count me as someone who loves the time to read feature! I think it's great.

You can also reset this feature by opening up a book and searching for ;ReadingTimeReset (typed exactly like that as it's case sensitive) You won't notice the change until you back out of the search at which time it will say "learning reading speed" at the bottom left of the page.

That's good info, sparklemotion. I like this feature a lot especially since it lets me know whether to take on another chapter before going to sleep or just stop. Resetting the timer should be easier though - I read different books at wildly different paces, I think and really think the pace should be reset with each book or at least have an easy option to do so.

"Time to Read is personalized based on your reading speed and is constantly updated as your speed and habits change."

Per Amazon. So as you read a technical book that you are reading more slowly, the time to read speed is adjusting to accommodate the slower pace.

I love the feature for time left in chapter.

As others have said, time left in book can be misleading. I have read several books from Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi and all of them end 70% through. The last 30% is all previews, history of the series, personnel lists, etc.

Yes, it is a great feature, specially for the time to read on a chapter. However, I would like to have a page number as an option too, as sometimes I accidentally change the page and lose my place for a while.

It's a nifty feature. Makes me wonder why it took me so long with some books.

I like it in the PW. Too bad the KFHD doesn't have it.

This way, if I have enough time to finish a chapter, I always do so.
