Automatic renaming of the files
Hello!
I am organizing my ebook database in order to have clean metadata. Is there a way that Calibre automatically renames the ebooks too, but in base on the metadata? For example: * The original file is named: Hegel_Ph_nomen_G_stes.pdf * The name should be: Hegel – Phänomenologie des Geistes.pdf Saludos Patrick |

The files in the library of Calibre? No, there ist no way to do it. Calibre has it own rules. So never look inside the librarydirectory.
The only thing you can change: The namerules for exporting files from Calibre. |

calibre automatically renames all files as they are imported, to the form "title - author.format" -- and this cannot be changed.
Additionally, you can set a metadata template. Preferences ==> Import/Export ==> Saving books to disk. This is preferred, since you are not supposed to touch the library copies except through calibre. I use Code:
{author_sort:sublist(0,1,&)}/{title}/{title} - {authors:sublist(0,1,&)} |
