These e-readers being discussed have different PDF features, https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/PDF

I copied/pasted some descriptions from them:

Full Page; Landscape; Manual Crop Margins; Fixed Zoom; Table of Contents; Hyperlinks;

Full Page Continuous; Landscape Continuous; Autocrop Margins; Manual Crop Margins; Two Column; Single Page Reflow; Zoom Images in Reflow (?); Table of Contents; Hyperlinks; Text Search; Dictionary Lookup;

Full Page; Landscape Autocrop; Fixed Zoom; Text Search; Dictionary Lookup;

What's the best PDF group for reading?

None. The only ebook reader that will come anywhere close is the Kindle DX.

Better is a tablet or netbook, followed by a full size laptop or desktop. Generally, I read PDFs on my 17" laptop screen. Some (tagged PDFs) can be read on smaller screens with tolerable results. Both my K3 and my jetBook attempt to make PDFs not completely out of the question by various strategems, with varying degrees of success.

Disagree.

It depends on the PDF itself.
Basically bigger ereaders are better.

9" ereaders : Kindle DXG, PocketBook 902/903, DR-950, MReader

I'm reading several PDF novels on my PRS-505 or PRS-900 without any problem. Some PDFs did well others not.
