Post [Request] Goal.com Recipe

I am a huge soccer fan and love to read the articles on Goal.com. I have tried for many hours to figure out how to write a recipe to fetch the articles from Goal.com (and its RSS feed) but I am a n00b and can't figure it out.

The link for the website is: http://www.goal.com/en/
It is important that it is that exact link because there are different versions of the website, and the above link is for the International version.

I would also really appreciate it if you could include the Barcelona team page from the goal.com website: http://www.goal.com/en/teams/spain/125/barcelona-news

I could not figure out how to isolate the individual articles when using the normal website, so I thought it would be easier to do through the RSS feed. However, the link that comes up when you click the RSS link is http://www.goal.com/en/feeds/news?fmt=rss, which is not an XML file, and therefore cannot be read by Calibre.

If anyone has time, I would really appreciate it if someone could either write me a Recipe, or preferably teach me how to write it so that I will be able to write more Recipes in the future and help others as well. Thanks in advance!

did you try that url or assume it wouldn't work? just asking ...

Anyway. I put it into feed43 and used item repeatable value
<title>{%}</title{*}</description><link>{%}</link><

which gave this url
http://feed43.com/5530725626320444.xml

try that in calibre - it should work and the item repeatable search string should give you the idea on how to get the other pages you want as rss.

hope that helps...
