PRS-950 950 needs a flash

I have two 950s. One of them suddenly is acting strange regarding internal memory. The other works fine on the same computer. The symptoms:

1) Can't delete books from internal memory
2) Doesn't shutdown cleanly
3) Doesn't mount drives (either one) by USB. Plugging it into USB causes it to lock up and require a reset to restart
4) A hard reset (< and + at the same time, options after) doesn't do anything

Sony says send it in. I'd like to try to flash the internal system if possible. Someone mentioned that porkupan had a way to do this but I can't find it in the forums.

Anyone help here?

Looks like that one requires the drive to be mounted from USB. My 950 will not let the computer mount the USB. It just locks up instead. I was hoping there was a way to do it from an SD card.

Here is the download page from Sony website. I don't have 950. My experience of flashing 650, 350..., I clicked on the software, waited until the software looking for the reader, then I plugged it in.

I'd like to know the answer too. I have the exact same issues with my prs-950.
