Alrighty, I'll say the bridge doesn't break because by the time the truck is halfway across, it's used up more gas by weight than the bird weighs.

That sounds right. After years of watching F1 and Indy Car racing, they always seem to run faster when their weight diminishes. So less fuel must be the key to the answer.

Most other answers that included weight of the driver, dirt, snow, etc would have caused the bridge to break almost immediately upon entering. |

Thanks.
A US-centric question, I'm afraid, but I think it's guessable. In the vast majority of states, the highest paid public employee holds a certain job. What is it? And what job is in second place? And what are the ten states where neither job is the most remunerative (with extra credit available if you name the top public job in those states)? |

In NY, the two highest paid public employees are a college coach and a professor. Their salaries are insane.

Guessing states without large successful sports teams have other high paying professionals.
Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, North Dakota and South Dakota. |

Yes. In 27 states, the football coach is the top-paid employee. O happy Minnesota, which values football and basketball equally and makes both lists.

The remaining states are Mass, NY, Maryland, Montana, Alaska and Nevada. Top jobs in all but the last are university president/med school dean/law school dean. In Nevada, it's a plastic surgeon at the state medical school.
Take it away, Fbone. |

Ok, thanks, an easy one.
You received a pair of matter transporters from your nerdy friend. It has a screen that you can put matter in and have it come out the other transporter, using science you cannot understand. Assuming no laws of physics change, can sound and light be transported through it? |

To the original question of whether sound and light waves could be transported, I would say yes; but both would be quickly transformed by the process, in a similar manner to the way that an ocean wave could be transported from an ocean to the middle of a desert. Both sound waves and light waves would quickly lose coherence.
