iLiad Emulator?

Is there some kind of iLiad emulator for simulating self-compiled software?

Follow that, and use the area for testing applications with VNC. There is currently only images for the 2.8 firmware, so you will be unable to test with 2.9.

As Adam B said, for now the nearest to an Iliad Emulator is to use the unofficial toolchain. The unofficial toolchain has scratchbox support, so it can execute binaries from the iliad. Scratchbox is a program that uses qemu (similar to VMWare, but able to emulate the ARM processor that is found in the iliad, in x86 PCs, among other things) ad behaves as a virtual ARM linux machine, but with access to the PC hard disk, simulating a native compiler but using in reality much faster x86 crosscompiler, using the host PC network access, etc. to speed up program development.

Doing a real emulator is somewhat far-fetched for now. The Qemu project is progressing in implementing what's required to support platform emulation of various ARM devices. But apart from the required qemu parts, We know absolutely nothing about the chip that drives the screen (iRex' xdelta).

So that's what we have for now.
