Toddler trapped in bank vault

I heard this on the news and I was tying to figure out how something as weird, strange and in my mind stupid happens.

Apparently in Georgia, a 14 month old girl was trapped in a banks time locked vault for 4 hours, she was the grand daughter of an employee.

I honestly can't understand how this could happen, I mean I understand that the banks vault automatically closes and locks at a predetermined time, but what I don't understand is how the grand mother could loose track of a 14 month old child?

maybe the kid was playing inside, and grandmommy lost track? o_O

Sounds like a VERY expensive mistake to make, if they had to drill through the vault door!
