Statistics?
Are there any plans to gather anonymous statistics regarding calibre usage?
I think it might be interesting to have an option to have calibre anonymously upload usage info such as device type, newsfeeds configured/read, book formats used, etc... If the software used a unique id, that didnt have any personal data associated, you'd also have a good idea about the number of users of calibre. This type of feature is something you'd have to enable during the installation/upgrade of the software allowing the user to opt-out if they chose to do so. The number of users might not be 100% accurate, but would still be interesting. |

With the frequent update cycle, one can use the download statistics to get a good idea of how many people are regularily using Calibre.

What, really, would be the point of this? Statistics about downloads and recipes, fine, but device and format? I'm very much against gathering any unnecessary data, anonymously or not.
