Hemingway, Ernest: A Farewell to Arms. V1. 26 December 2012
Ernest Miller Hemingway (July 21, 1899 – July 2, 1961) surely needs no further introduction.
This 1929 novel, based on some of his experiences during WW1, takes place largely in the northeast of Italy during WW1. It tells of the wartime experiences of an American Ambulance Corps volunteer, and his love affair with an English nurse. The text was sourced from an academic site, but was un-proofed with many OCR errors, lacked a good cover, and had no Table of Contents. I have fixed all of those failings. It is about 90,000 words. (I have made a typing error in the title of the thread: Vi instead of V1.) |

So is it a 1920 or a 1929 novel? You say 1929 in the text but have 1920 in ( )'s in the download link.

1929. Made a typo in Calibre when converting it to Mobi from html. Tired fingers mishit the keys.
The cover I made for it shows 1929 correctly. I make a point of showing firstpub year in my files, and on the book covers, as a service to browsers. Have to watch those post-Christmas fingers! |

Don't be surprised if this thread is pulled. All previous Hemingway uploads have been removed due to DMCA notices.

Thank you so much for posting this. I could have had it for an Xmas present. Too bad the US has a multi-generational copyright. This was very hard to find.
