Mass Select for Custom Column setting

I created a custom column for read/in-progress/not read. Is there a way to mass select a group of books and assign them to the read (for example) value in the custom column?

Absolutly
It is just another use for Bulk (mode) metadata edit

Highlight the books: Tap 'E': Set the field (may be on an alternate Tab) desired to the desired value
