Free book (nook) - The Secret Garden [Annotated/Illustrated Classic]

For Free Fridays, in addition to the Fodor vintage travel guide, B&N are double-dipping into the retro nostalgia vault for a hat trick of freebie offers.

Frances Hodgson Burnett's children's classic The Secret Garden is being offered free from them in two editions:
  1. the B&N Classics version from their series of very nice annotated editions with scholarly introductions and essays,
  2. and an illustrated abridged version from their Classics Starts series, meant especially to introduce the story to younger children.

Whether you enjoyed this book yourself or know some kids with e-reader access who do (or just collect freebies like a hoarder), you've now got two versions to put on your Nook or Nook-equivalent, courtesy of B&N who owns both imprints.

I rather hope they do more of these "classics" Free Fridays backups to the regular offered books. Maybe this will cut down on the complaining/fake-review-trolling about genre/selection (hah!) and provide people with steady incentive to at least consider a Nook/shopping at B&N.

Competition for our e-buying dollars is A Good Thing™.
