DX brief first impressions

I bought a Sony PRS-505 about a week ago and I read a 250 page book on it. It was a pleasant experience but the display is a little too small for me. The DX feels perfect in my hands - it's just the right size for me. The display is enormous compared to the Sony. Page turns are fast and the menu system is responsive. I opened a 50mb PDF file in just a few seconds and it looks fantastic. Some reviews I read have complained about the 5-way controller but I think it works well. The screen auto rotation feature seems to work faster than in some of the videos I've seen. So far, I love it!

If you do not mind, can you check scanned pdf also?
Is it possible to search some keyword in pdf file?
Does it support TOC(table of contents)?

Thank you.

First pdf file will be big (60MB)

http://modular.math.washington.edu/sga/sga5/SGA5.pdf

Second is just one megabyte.

http://math.berkeley.edu/~ribet/Articles/invent_71.pdf

Last pdf is not scanned version, but it contain bookmarks and link.
http://tobi.oetiker.ch/lshort/lshort.pdf
could you check whether bookmarks and link works?
Could you search some word like 'latex' in the third pdf.

Thank you very much.

Search does not work in the first PDF although it looks great and it loads fast.

Same for the second PDF.

Search works in the third PDF (LATEX is found). I also see that the links and bookmarks are a different shade, but I cannot use the 5-way to highlight them. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

The second file is not searchable in principle - so, it is not Kindle's fault. It needs to be OCRed first.

I have OCRed the second file. It is searchable now. Would you please try it again? Thanks!

Thank you very much.
I am very happy with searching function.

If you do not mind, could you try to click numbers(actually red link) of last page in the third pdf again?

I should have asked earlier, but can you highlight and annotate text? And if yes, are highlighting and annotations transferable back to computer?

I selected the 'go to page' function on the third PDF that you posted and then moved the 5-way switch and the DX rebooted. After reboot I could jump to the last page. I see the shaded numbers but I have no way to select them - the 5-way switch does nothing.

Unfortunately I don't have a camera here with me. The PDF loads fine. The page 3 text is very readable and I can see all of the details in the illustration, including the numbers above the peaks and the caption.

When I load the PDF you posted the 'add note or highlight' function is greyed out and unavailable.

It would appear that PDF hyperlinks are not currently supported by the DX.
