Trade a PRS-700 for 505 or similar

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a Sony PRS-700. I bought it 2 weeks back from a kind lady in Toronto. It was bought new this past Christmas for her husband however he never used it. It's in mint condition but did not come with the original box or cd but had the USB cable.
Anyways, If anyone should be interested, I'd like to trade for a Prs-505 or similar.

All the best
Ron

Sorry, a 500 can't be considered at all. That would really be a step back!
I should really have been more clear...I would like to trade this for a Sony Prs-505
or technically similar reader. If the other reader is not a Sony, it would have to
have the same screen specs as the 505 and internals. The 700 is in perfect new like condition so I would appreciate some attempt to equal out the value as well.
A nice cover or whatever would be really cool. I hope that's not asking too much
If anyone has any criticisms or whatnot, let me know! Oh...the reason for wanting a trade
is that the the better contrast of the 505 proves to be more valuable to me than the touch screen and it's features and the built in lighting

All my best
Ron

Your asking for a more than fair trade.

I don't think he was expecting you to trade for his 500 - it was wishful thinking.

Do you just not like the screen of the 700? I'm searching for a 505 for you...

That's it..I just don't like the screen It's nice and snappy and everything I'd want in a good reader except for that dang contrast issue.

If you use a lot of PDFs, I hear that the PRS-505 doesn't cut it. It's slow on the 505. PDFs work quite well on the PRS-700. But if you don't use PDFs much, don't worry about this comment then

I don't use pdf files at all. For the most part, I convert everything to lrf anyways.
Thanks for the tip

I might be willing to trade. How would you want to do it? It's one thing to buy one, but another to me send you mine and you send me yours... Some kind of escrow service?

Yes, it could be something to arrange On the other hand, we could just outright trust each other?(I know, it's a dangerous if not odd concept these days). If you could pm me your details like the age of your 505 etc, maybe we could get something going?

All the best

Interested. 505 just purchased at ecost for 220 + 10 ship. 700 was too pricey but if you really don't want it I'm willing to exchange. I'm in USA.

Sorry everyone,

Lack of funds has forced my hand. I sold the unit locally and am hoping to
pick up a 505 sooner than later. I feel naked without it already but I have
the consolation of knowing that the person who bought it is a member here
and an avid reader :)
