Bookland access on 302 wifi

Does no-one else have an issue with this? My device opens the connection , starts downlading... and then says no connection to network even though there is one. Tracing the network requests there is a DHCP discover followed by a DHCP request and then an ARP for the gateway address. At this point the bookland app just closes. However the network is up and works fine using minibrowser which makes exactly the same network requests!

Is there any way to find out why the Bookland app is not working?

What log are you referring to - a wireshark log or is there a mechanism to open a log file on the 302?

Ok this trace shows another problem using the bookland app. Tracing on the mac address bookland generates the following:

Problems is it doesnt generate an ARP request so it cant resolve hosts. After this even though I have network connectivity I cant connect through either bookland or the 2 browsers I have - fails with cannot resolve host!

After the network connection closes and the icon in the tray disappears, I connected 1st with mini browser - this worked fine see the trace below:

Note the ARP request - everything is working well for both browser apps now!

However, when I try with the Bookland app it generates 0 (zero) network traffic and returns a response unable to connect to network. This is wrong because the network is connected and its not even trying to use it.

I reran another another trace on Bookland access, this time it asked me to select my preferred network after I did it then showed me the "opening connection" dialog and then subsequently failed. This time it sent out no network messages at all - not event a DHCP discovery and request message!!

So Question 1: why is the Bookland app behaviour inconsistent (asking for a network or simply taking the preferred network choice when in both cases there is not netowrk connection and some establishment is required?

Question 2: why in both of the inconsistent behaviour cases mentioned does it not send out either DHCP messages and/or an ARP request whilst the browser applications are able to do this correctly

I think there are other Wifi networking inconsistencies but these 2 are the most pressing ones to resolve in getting the Bookland application working properly

Does the 302 have any data that can be checked for internal state? Is it posible to get root access and check stuff out?

1: The Bookland app is consistent as it ALWAYS asks for a network and connects through that. (if your 302 functions correctly)

2: It does, normally

This sounds like something is not entirely right with your Bookland installation. Try reinstalling the firmware.

Are you sure it always asks for a network? If there is already a network connected doesn't it just use that? Seems like it should and that's what I see - if you connect 1st using the browser and then with the network icon in the tray use the Bookland app it just goes straight to downloading without any opening connection window. Howver it then produces a failure message which is inexplicable.

Under what circumstances does it offer you the network selection menu instead of immediately opening your preferred network connection? Seems sometimes it does 1 method and other occasions does the other.

I reinstalled the 15.2 image it passed all checks and completed, problem is still the same. I don't believe my image is corrupted, more likely there's some data/config specific to Bookland thats set to a wrong value on my 302

Where can I find an older image to try that?

Also how do you clear out date on this device, for example how do I remove wireless configuration settings - there doesn't seem to be a delete option?

On my experience, the 302 doesnt ask for a connection, if there is one already established. It wont ask you for if your favorit connection works (15.2)

There is no need for older image, 15.2 is working well.

Afaik there is no possibility to delte a wireless connection on its own.

That's not very helpful.
The Bookland app does not work for me and so the image is not working well. Bookland fails on network access despite the fact that the wifi connection is working fine for browser, mini-browser and RSS feeds.

There should always be an older image available, do you not know where one is located?

Is there any technical support on this forum?
