Screen burn-in
Hi all - new member and ebook reader here. i just purchased the prs-505 and was wondering if burn-in was a possibility with e-ink displays. b/c i noticed that when plugged in via usb, the screen turns on with the usb icon in the center and dark banners at the top and bottom for the duration of the charge.

Welcome to MobileRead!
The short answer is not really. The long answer involves the fact that the display is particles that are physically moved around inside little capsules to make the pixels light or dark. The particles are in one location or another regardless, and there's not really anything that influences them to "stick" in any given spot. I'll let you search the forum if you want the really long answer. |
