We've already alternated between rain and sun today. If everything works out as predicted, Arthur should just skirt by us offshore. It should actually hold us in a clear and comfortable pattern for a while.
Good luck to you guys! |

Well, Arthur has passed us by - got absolutely no rain here at all - minor flooding on the barrier islands - the holiday has been saved for beach-goers!
[Dang! Now I'll have to drag out the soaker hoses for the shrubbery!] Next week starts the truly stinking hot days of summer - no rain, every day in the high 90's F with matching humidity levels... |

We got a downpour yesterday that may have been indirectly related to Arthur -- a weather system stalled over us, probably held back by Arthur to the south.
Nice weather this afternoon -- still muddy from yesterday, but sunny and comfortable. The heat should start ratcheting back up by Sunday. |

Whew! Early morning lawn mowing over - probably the last mowing I'll be doing for a while ... yesterday was hot without humidity - gorgeous. Today the humidity is building back in for a truly brutal work week ahead - days of +95 F temps with matching humidity levels - pushing the heat index levels into the 100+ F levels - summer is with us ....

Forecast high of 94F today with humidity in the 40% range. We're supposed to get a line of storms through tomorrow, but I'll believe it when I see it. If I had an animal avatar, it'd be roasting right now too.

HOT! With hot gusty winds! Dropped my car off at the garage this morning and walked to work (about 10 blocks) - thought it was still cool enough not to have to bum a ride -- WRONG! Made myself a bit heat sick and am slowly recovering. You can bet I'll get a ride to pick it up!
Hottest days of the year today & tomorrow - normally this weather arrives the week of July 4th, but Arthur delayed its arrival. 95+ F temps with humidity > 50% => heat index levels ("feels like on your skin") of +100 F. Yikes! And yes, alleged 'cool' front arriving tomorrow night .... |

We got a lot of thunder and a little rain. Just enough rain, in fact, to evaporate right back up and turn the atmosphere into a wet blanket. I will believe this cooling trend when I see it.

Had a brief monsoon-ish shower at dinner time, but it's actually cooled down into the lower 70's F - very nice for my after dinner walk.
Thunderstorms on tap for the next 7 days ..... |

Yesterday it looked like it would never stop raining and it was about 18C, which was nice after the warm and humid weather of the past week. Right now it's 25C and a humidity of 78%, for later today rain is predicted.
