- ETH0 - inserted at chapter beginning when converting from RTF to ePub

I get - ETH0 - at the top of each chapter when I convert RTF to Epub. I use MS Word 2003. Any idea why?

That has to be somewhere in the source file - it does not get added by Calibre. Have you checked all the header/footer settings?

I can't see anything. This is a sample rtf that does it, and the epub.

ETH0 is present in your RTF, I'll post the extract from around it

In the RTF file that string is present in the document properties as the value of the Company field. If you save as Web Page (filtered) then it seems to remove the ETH0. You could therefore try that as the version to add to calibre and convert.

What would make it start happening? I've used the same program for a few years now but this only started happening recently.

This tip helped me in converting several different RTFs with issues. Converting to filtered web page in Word first saves a lot of hassle.
