You know you are on MR when someone posts about a new Reader and you want it.

You know you are on a MR forum if there's always some spicey chicken dangling in front of you but you'll never get it

You know you have been on MR too long when you start talking to newbies with new ereaders about .mobi, epub, kepub, azw, lit, rtf, epub3, etc... and they stare at you like you are a member or the MR cult and spent 6 months with Alex in a "Heidi contraption" on an undisclosed Swiss mountain in order to "really" know your eformats...

Amen to this, with an emphasis on polite. I just had a negative experience as a new poster on another forum (which must use the same software engine as MR--it's exactly alike in look and feel), where I was made to feel most unwelcome by two long-time "guru" posters who delighted in lecturing me for having the audacity to correct one of their posts (a correction that was never actually refuted) and patting each other on the back for it. This is an experience completely foreign to me on MR, and one that I am very careful not to inflict on any new posters when I answer their posts.

You know you are on a MR forum if you get annoyed at the unfulfilled promise of "Free and Bargain Romances" every single month!

You know you've been an MR member too long when you're reading a hard cover novel you've borrowed from the local library, you go to the kitchen to fix a mug of tea, and when you come back you idly wonder if you've been away long enough that the book has shut down and will need to be restarted.

Or as another friend just said, you close your paperback and go to bed, forgetting that it will NOT remember your page for you, automagically.
