Will automatic FW update from Amazon funk my jailbreak?

Hello

I've had Kindle 3GB for a year now and only finally gotten around to jailbreaking it. In that time I noticed once when I turned my 3G on, I received an update to 3.4.

I'm wondering then, as Kindle is now jailbroken, will future auto updates interfere with the jailbreak, or any other potential problems I need to be aware of please?

tbh I dont know if there will be an update before the machine dies of old age. maybe.

It's an open ended answer "Not usually" would be a fair answer.

And No, Simply having a JB device shouldn't prevent future updates (but mangled files might)

So, yeah. there is no easy answer. If I was a betting man the smart money would be on

"You're probably Okay" (Assuming the recent PW release is just a blip)

Sure - if you want to get paranoid. I have a selection of methods to prevent OTA updates. (none of them did I invent might I add)

They are all documented, "dmsid" I believe has documented several also on these threads - along with the many Tin Hat threads that moot them from time to time.

In essence - you can be in control to a large degree. Not 100% but "up there"
