Hide Table of Contents?

I've downloaded with calibre news from the web, i convertet them to epub files and transmited them to the Sony Prs-t1.
At the at the bottom of the displayed page (see photo), appears an
icon with table of contents and the page number. The page shown is unnecessarily small. Could you please tell me how i can hide the table of contents?

You cannot, the SONY firmware adds that to all periodicals automatically. You could try setting the output profile to something other than SONY in the calibre conversion settings, but that might cause the downloaded epubs to no longer be treated as periodicals.

This problem does not always occur, it seems almost arbitrary.

I have the same problem and detected the following:
- if this TOC is visible I simply connect the T1 again with the PC and wait until Calibre detects it and do nothing within Calibre and eject the T1 reader with the help of Calibre.
And then the TOC is gone, it is easy to repeat and works fine as a workaround.
