Question Which Android app are you using to improve battery life

Android cellphones and Tablets (like Galaxy Tab) are not as good with battery like dedicated ereaders. I would like to know which nice Android app are you using to save some power. Or which Android tweak or trick are you also using to improve battery life.

As per TallMomof2's suggestion I am using "Green Power" on my Galaxy Tab, but would be nice to hear other other options.

Which one are you using?

Apparently, Screen Filter is supposed to save on battery a bit. It lowers the screen brightness to below the manufacturers' minimum levels. I also turn off Wifi and the GPS when I'm not using them, and I don't use 3G. I use a black background with grey text when I'm reading e-books (Super AMOLED screens use a lot of battery trying to process white). That helps with my Galaxy S.

When I am not actively web browsing, I turn off wi-fi (no bluetooth or GPS in mine) and adjust the screen brightness down to a level comfortable with the room lighting. No app needed, these are available in the "settings".
I loaded, tried, and removed several "power saver" apps and just continue with the steps above.
